The INSPIRE data specifications specify all data quality elements and sub-elements that are to be provided with the data set metadata in accordance with ISO 19113 and the implementing rule on Metadata. This includes a statement on applicable data quality measures as defined in ISO/TS 19138, but excludes the description of test methods and test procedures.

For example the cadastral parcels specification specifies two data quality sub-elements, both per spatial object type:

  • Completeness - Omission (number of missing items in the dataset in relation to the number of items that should have been present)
  • Positional accuracy - Absolute or external accuracy
