1. Installing Tomcat application server
First you are going to install the servlet-container of Apache on your local computer.
Required installation files:
Tomcat 5.5 (version 5.5.25 or higher)
1) Double click on the file.
2) Then from the wizard menu select:
- Next
- I agree (license agreement)
- Next (normal installation)
- Next (default destination folder)
- At http connector port: 8080, fill in your user name: admin, password: admin and next
- Install (with default path name)
At this point the Apache Tomcat servlet-container has been locally installed. If the icon for Tomcat is showing in the right bottom corner of the system field and you can see the small, green ‘play’ icon, then Tomcat is running.
