7. Installing catalogue eXcat
As a last step you can launch a catalog service. With this service you can search services (if they are correctly documented, xml).
1) First you download and you copy the following file: eXcat (excat-<datum>.zip)
to a temporary directory.
2) Then you unzip the file and you place eXcat.war in: C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps
(With a file of this size, you don’t need to stop the apache tomcat server.)
3) Then you start the admin tool in order to fill the database with services:
<< client.bat >>
Can be found in
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\excat\WEB-INF\bin
Make sure that the URL (excat) refers to the right directory. Click OK. The next screen then becomes visible.
4) Create a new collection and give it a logical name
5) Fill the collection with all the available xml files in the data/metadata/loket folder of the usb-stick
6) Close the managing program and open excat in the browser (http://localhost:8080/excat)
7) You can search the catalog service via the tab ‘csw client’ in the page that is shown.
