To plan and carry out digging, or to understand the lay of the land in a particular area, detailed information is needed about the location and what kinds of networks of cables and pipelines are underground. Various network managers can provide this information such as municipalities and utility companies. The system KLIC-online has been set up as a central point for unlocking this information about these networks.
Services
All the parties involved should be connected to KLIC-online with web services that conform with Berichtenmodel voor Kabels en Leidingen (BMKL).
This model for the exchange of information messages is based on the Informatiemodel Kabels en Leidingen (IMKL).
The implementing of both models in KLIC-online is a good combination of web service specifications from within the general IT-world, W3C and OASIS, and the Geo-IT world (OGC). The definitions of the schemes and messages can be found here.
